Content Policy
Last updated 10 Aug 2026
Latchkey is a place to build and play puzzles. To keep it welcoming and safe, everything published here needs to follow these guidelines. They apply to games, locks, images, titles, descriptions, reviews, profiles, and assets shared in the asset library — and to external experiences a lock hands players to.
What's not allowed
- Illegal content, or anything that promotes serious harm.
- Harassment, hate speech, or attacks on people or groups.
- Sexual or explicit content, or content that sexualises minors.
- Graphic violence or gore.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
- Someone's private information, or puzzles that direct players to it.
- Malware, scams, or attempts to deceive or defraud players.
- Real-world instructions that put players in danger (trespassing, hazardous locations, or unsafe activities).
Creator responsibilities
- Only publish content you have the rights to use.
- Design real-world puzzles that are safe and respectful of the spaces they use.
- Set an honest visibility (private, unlisted, or public) for your games.
How we moderate
Reports go into a review queue. Content we take down stops being served immediately, and repeated or serious violations can cost the account. Because Latchkey is a small project, moderation is best-effort — reporting helps us a lot.
How to report content
Use the Report button — it's on games, assets, and reviews, and it works whether or not you're signed in. Pick the reason that fits and add a short note. For a profile, anything without a button, or a problem that doesn't fit one thing you can point at, email hello@latchkey.games with a link and a short note. For urgent safety issues, please say so in the subject line.
Consequences
Violations can lead to content being removed, features being limited, or an account being suspended or terminated, depending on severity.
